Banned in DC

Here is the next post by Dean of his music musings. He's staying with the Bad Brains for this one. These drawings are based on one of his strolls around Long Beach. Each DNA a real tag he found.

Everything by Dean.
Clean up by Jeff.

Next up: Hair

My First Time

Honestly, the show was way more crowded than I depicted, but you get the idea.  You can find a full video of the show at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1-HmtGv-0M. I jumped in at 29:11, when "I Against I" kicks in.

Fun fact: The Country Club used to be a grocery store and is now a church.

Everything by me. Jeff cleaned it up. Thanks, bro.

Shared Alienation

Here is the second installment of Dean's music musings.
Dean actually rented Hüsker Dü's New Day Rising from the Huntington Beach Public Library for 25 cents. That record changed his life.
Dean drew and wrote the thing. Jeff coined the last line and cleaned up the pages.
Next up: Slamming at the Bad Brains

In On The Know

While between big projects, Dean drew short comix stories based on his experiences with music. "In On The Know" is the first of these stories.

Dean did a lot of visual research to draw the Central Huntington Beach Library for this piece. It, in fact, wore him out.

Jeff played editor and cleaner upper.

Blessed

This will be the last of "The Cave Man Speaks" stories for a bit.
This one is dedicated to Rebekah W.
Next up, we will be posting Dean's ruminations on music.

The Cave Man Speaks of Science Fiction

The Cave Man's Favorite Book

This is the very first color experiment for the Cave Man Speaks. Dean grabbed a favorite line from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian and drew, lettered and colored this one pager.
